Clock Rewinders on a Book Binge is a fun weekly event by Amanda @ On a Book Bender and Tara @ 25 Hour Reads where we share the fantastic posts, giveaways, or whatever else we’ve found and loved during the week. Let the rewinding begin!
~ I finally got my shit together and figured out my challenges from last year. I withdrew from 1, failed 2 and completed 12. I also learned not to bite off more than I can chew. It wasn’t the reading that was overwhelming, but the keeping track.
~ I listed the top 10 debut books I’m looking forward to this year.
~ I reviewed Losing It by Cora Carmack.
~ I reviewed Splintered by A.G. Howard.
~ I helped celebrate Entwined Publishing’s birthday with a stop on their scavenger hunt tour.
~ I reviewed Hooked by Liz Fichera.
~ I reviewed From Ashes by Molly McAdams.
Ya’ll, I have a new obsession and its name is Doctor Who. I’d heard of the show before in passing, but never given it much thought. Then I bought my new Kindle Fire HD and finally got around to checking out the free movie and TV library for Prime members. Doctor Who was a choice, so I gave it a try. IMMEDIATELY HOOKED. I bought all the seasons on DVD and have been watching them in order. I’ve gotten the whole family into it and we’re on the fifth season now. I hope we can catch up completely before the current season starts.
~ The stars have aligned and we are getting Delirium by Lauren Oliver as a TV show! At first, I was bummed it wouldn’t be a movie, but then I decided a TV show could last years and years, as opposed to just 3 movies. Then I was happy. Lauren responds to those with similar feelings about the show.
~ Ashley from The Bookish Brunette easily convinced me to read Wounded based only on her review.
~ Parajunkee gives a nice rundown of plagiarism (yes, it’s happening again) and how it can be handled.
~ XPresso Reads has a fun post about mid-season book cover changes.
The following commenters were super excited about my review of Splintered:
~ “A person essentially lend a hand to make severely posts I’d state. This is the very first time I frequented your website page and to this point? I amazed with the analysis you made to create this actual submit extraordinary. Excellent job!”
~ “Some really fantastic info , Gladiolus I observed this.”
~ “Perfectly indited content material , appreciate it for information.”
My review of Catching Jordan received this comment:
~ “I actually wanted to type a remark in order to thank you for these great guidelines you are showing at this website. My long internet look up has finally been paid with awesome points to exchange with my company. I ‘d assert that we website visitors actually are very much lucky to live in a remarkable site with so many awesome individuals with interesting tactics. I feel very much grateful to have seen your site and look forward to some more entertaining minutes reading here. Thanks a lot once more for everything.”
And my review of Hourglass simply stunned this one:
~ “Valuable info. Fortunate me I found your website by accident, and I am stunned why this accident didn’t came about earlier! I bookmarked it.”
Lesson learned this week? When you have to turn of ALL of your plug-ins to find out which one broke your site, make sure the Growmap Anti Spambot is the first one you turn back on.

Your trackback made me smile because I remember turning GASP off doing some testing and the flood of spambot comments I had to manually remove. That plugin is a blessing for me every single day in dozens of blogs I contribute on or edit.

Hi Andrea,
I wanted to let you know that you still have an issue with one of your plugins. I see two lines that say ‘Notify me of follow-up comments by email’ instead of only one – and when I checked the second one it submitted the comment above this one without me clicking ‘post comment’. So that plugin has a bug or conflicts with another one or your theme or WordPress.
Checking the first one did NOT submit this comment so I tried checking the other one again and the comment is still open to type in, so that is an intermittent issue – but the line being there twice seems to be solid.

Thanks for letting me know about the issue, Gail. Hopefully I can figure it out and correct it!
