Age: mid-twenties when she died.

Physical description from the book: When I looked down at myself, I saw just me, wearing the clothes I’d worn the day I died. Black slacks, gray button-down shirt, black leather jacket, medium-heel black boots. Casual professional. When I’d managed to cast a reflection in the mirror, I’d still looked like me. Medium-toned skin, green eyes, dark wavy hair to my shoulders.

Quote that fits her personality: I died in Dallas, my hometown. I was killed, actually. Murdered. I’ll spare you the gruesome details. I don’t like to remember them myself. Some jerk with a knife–and probably a Bad-Mommy complex. Believe me, if I knew where he was, I’d go haunt his ass.

Best quality: Loyal, kind, determined to make sure that things come out right.

Worst quality: Tends to repress the bad things that happen; doesn’t want to deal with problems unless she has to.

the busy bibliophileGossip girl meets Hollywood in this new series by Jillian Dodd

Keatyn has everything she ever dreamed of. Her life is following the script she wrote for the perfect high school experience. She’s popular, goes to the best parties, dates the hottest guy, and sits at the most coveted lunch table.

She’s just not sure she wants it anymore.Stalk Me

Because really, things aren’t all that perfect.
Her best friend is threatening to tell everyone her perfect relationship is a scam.
Her perfect boyfriend gets drunk at every party they go to.
It’s exhausting always trying to look and act perfect.
And deep down, she isn’t sure if she has any true friends.

To add to the drama, her movie star mom has a creepy stalker.
A hot, mysterious man keeps flirting with her and telling her they should make a movie together.
And she’s crushing on an adorable surfer. Dating him would mean committing social suicide.

So she writes a new script. One where all the pieces of her life will come together in perfect harmony.

But little does she know, there’s someone who will do anything to make sure that doesn’t happen.

the busy bibliophileCharacter profile: Vanessa
Age: 16

Physical description from the book: She’s too busy batting her fake eyelashes and tossing around her long, dark curls. . . I watch as she runs her fake red nails across Sander’s forearm. She’s swaying drunkenly back and forth.

Quote that fits her personality:

WTF! Why in the world would you break up with Sander? He’s the f*cking PROM KING! Do you know how hard we’ve worked for this? And you want to throw it all away?

Fine. So yes, I was hitting on him last night, but I was just doing it because I’m your friend. Wanted to make sure he wasn’t the kind of slime ball that would take me up on it. He passed. Oh, and by the way, I’m still sitting at his table even if you aren’t. Like no hard feelings.

Best quality: If you are her friend, she can be a complete bitch to you, but no one else better mess with you. In that way, she can be a very loyal friend. Very confident.

Worst quality: Bossy, conceited, bully.

Thanks for sharing Vanessa with us, Jillian. She sounds like a tough person to like, but a good person to have on your side! If you want to see who Jillian pictures to play Vanessa (and the rest of her dream cast), click here.

Character Profile: Piper Kim Lawson from Betrayed by Ednah Walters

Goodreads 8970151summary:

Lil isn’t just an average teenager. She’s one of the Nephilim–the descendants of humans and angels–which gives her some serious psi skills and a mission for redemption. Just when Lil thinks she’s found a balance between her normal life with human friends and her training to become a Guardian, she’s warned that someone close to her will betray her. When the boy she loves starts acting strangely and one of her human friends acquires a supernatural ability, Lil begins to realize that someone is manipulating the people she loves… and won’t stop until she’s been lured to the dark side.

About the author:

Writing about myself is not as easy as penning a saga about fictitious characters. Where to start? What to add? What to leave out? Don’t want to bore you with stories of my childhood…when I walked, got potty-trained, talked…so I’ll start with the more interesting stuff.

I started making up fairytale stories before I could write, even wrote a play which was performed by my class in high school, but I didn’t complete my first story until I finished my PhD in chemistry and decided to be a stay-at-home mother. The first books I wrote were picture books about the adventures of a little lion called Little Leo and his pet Cockatoo. My kids got a kick out of hearing me read them out aloud. Then I moved to mid-grade chapter books. Their favorite was Goldilocks before the Three Bears. Then I tried my hand at contemporary romance and romantic suspense. That didn’t go so well and besides, I couldn’t read them to my children.

And the little munchkins grew and became teens and moody and impossible to please…digressing again. As teens. my babies wanted to read teen books. Vampires and werewolves were in. A professor of mine once told me that you can either be the first or the best at what you do. I wasn’t too keen on jumping on the vampire/werewolf bandwagon, so being first was out. And I couldn’t see myself being the best, self-taught writer that I am. So I decided to write something different–the fallen angels.

The idea for Awakened (originally named The Awakening) rose from the inner recesses of my mind after I came across the stories of kris/keris daggers. All I knew was that the weapon had to be at the center of my story. Soon the characters formed in my head and wouldn’t leave me alone, especially an orphaned girl named Lil.

Finding a home for Awakened wasn’t easy. Books about fallen angels by other authors hit the shelves while I was still trying to find an agent and an editor willing to take a chance on me.

Like most of my stories, Awakened is full of romance, mystery and adventure. I believe in the power of love, and that’s why I spice up my stories with romance.

I live in picturesque valley in northern Utah with my husband, five children and two cats.

Character profile: Piper Kim Larson
Race: Nephilim
Age: 18
Birthday: June 8th
Zodiac sign: Gemini
Grade: 12th
GPA: 4.0
Favorite Song: “Don’t Tell Me” by Avril Lavigne
Power: Air
Background: Nephilim with the ability to manipulate air can create turbulence with a wave of their hands. Some can ride air like one would a skateboard, which makes Air Guardians amazing martial arts fighters.

Kim speaks her mind and damn the consequences. She can be sharp and direct in her speech, which others might consider rude and insensitive. In high school, she was one of the popular girls and danced with Cache High drill team. She doesn’t make friends easily but once she is your friend, she is loyal to a fault. We see this in her relationship with Izzy. Her father is the chairman of the High Council of Northwest sector, which covers North American and Central America. Her mother works for the High Council as well.

Kim is an only child. She grew up in Xenith, the Guardian world, but was exposed to earth TV programs at an early age. Her family prides itself in producing Cardinal Guardians although they cheat by mating their children to only powerful Guardians.

Kim loves to dance and party. In fact, she is an amazing party planner. Shopping for trendy outfits is her favorite pastime. If she’s not training, she is online shopping or teleporting somewhere with Izzy to shop or attend a fashion show. She has very little patience with those who are fashion challenged and has no problem pointing out what they can do to improve their wardrobes.

Most often, Kim had little patience for humans. She barely tolerates Lil’s human friends and despises humans who make deals with demons. Her hostility toward humans is so deep Izzy calls her an anti-hero. But then again, Kim doesn’t think highly of anyone who is not a Guardian. It took her forever to warm up to Lil and Bran.

At five-eight, with a swimsuit model body, golden locks and blue eyes, Kim is gorgeous and knows it. She is not above using a guy or anyone to get her way. She gets bored easily, so she tends to change boyfriends often.

Casting Call: As usual I will leave it to readers to decide what my characters looks like to them. But if I were to cast her, I’d use Evan Rachel Wood.

Thank you so much, Ednah, for taking the time to introduce us to such an interesting (and beautiful!) character from your books.
